A personal shopping and delivery company. With Spree4me, customers could order groceries, pick up mail, prescriptions, and have restaurants delivered, all from a single phone call. I designed business documents and all marketing. I communicated and worked in cooperation with several businesses for additional deliveries. Duties included customer order fulfillment, correspondence with managers of connected businesses, advertising needs, graphic design, billing, market research, hiring and managing employees. Pitched company to team of investors and earned $1k in development funds.

Self-Employed, Marketing Manager [Apparel and Lifestyle design company – Glyphwell]

This was a lifestyle apparel company, utilizing a heavy social media presence to establish sales of shirts, phone cases, and posters. Large sales were coordinated with vendors at music festivals and various marketplaces. I managed employees and marketing platforms. My duties included creating and distributing new designs, maintaining social media page and website, performing market and industry research, hiring and managing employees, organizing deals and overseeing sales.

Managed storefront, website, and systems maintenance. I installed new hardware for the shop, as well as implemented new inventory documents, Point-of-Sale systems, internet storefronts, and information backups. Refurbishing – I fix antique electronics in my spare time. Projects range from simple to very complex, but the results are usually quite rewarding. See my Galleries page for more.

Soldering – In refurbishing antique electronics, I have utilized and grown capable at soldering mechanical connections, through-hole circuits, and SMD circuits. I can also create rudimentary circuitry for custom purposes.

Electroplating – In refurbishing antique electronics, I have grown familiar with the practice of electroplating. I have worked with a variety of metals in order to protect surfaces, and improve aesthetics.

Musician – I am experienced in several instruments as well as vocalization. I have done much work in music and continue to expand my repertoire in the performing arts. See my Audio page for more.

Painting – I dabble in physical media of various sorts. I favor acrylics lately. I like to paint works of fantasy, but am able to paint murals and custom items such as gaming and clothing accessories. See my Galleries page for more.

Design – I consider myself to be an accomplished designer. From websites to painting, and to product design, I feel that I have a strong grasp of the elements of balance and color.

Creative Writing – I have written many notes on ethical philosophy, story concepts, and characters. I plan to publish a written work of my own in the near future. I apply my writing skills in my daily life as well as in my professional life. I am proud to say I do not use procedurally generative software to supplement my own creativity or capability.

Leadership:

Team Leader – Marketing Project Team [Smart Wallet] – designing product and marketing plan to complement the product’s introduction to market.

Lead Singer – Infernocide – A local thrash metal band performing in the St. Augustine area. I take center stage, singing and leading the crowd to the music. I also take lead in producing and managing the production and distribution of merchandise.

Sales and Tech Manager – Healing Waters Clinic – At this job, I took on duties beyond what was asked of me in order to help grow and develop the small business.

Community Services – [Sunshine Ranch] – Worked with and lead a team to clean and organize the facility. This was just after a festival, it was quite the task to undertake.

Junior Achievement “BizTown” – I oversaw student’s conduct and the operation a miniature business in a simulated marketplace. I assigned roles, management of behavior and task moderation, and the distribution of necessary information.

Storefront Management – I operated several small businesses both physical and virtual. I am experienced in maintaining order and ensuring my team gets the job done. Web Development:

Healingwatersclinic.com – A massive web store and information portal that provides information for herbal students, customers of “holisticism”, and links for purchasing herbal products. I rebuilt the website from scratch to replace a beta version of the site. Hundreds of pages of products, articles, and search engine optimization were done by myself. Thanks to my work, the website and products contained within are among the first results in relevant web searches, with daily sales.

Barefootdoctorherbs.com – A blog-style web page that provides additional perspective on products and services offered by Laurence Layne. Built from scratch to replicate a previous design. Dozens of pages relating to products sold on Healingwatersclinic.com were crafted by me in order to fill the site with products and articles.

drwalterguy.com – A small website designed to inform about the physician Dr. Walter Guy, a healing practitioner who lived in Saint Augustine, Florida. The site also sells books related to the author, as well as books written by Laurence Layne. The website was rebuilt to fit the client’s needs in WordPress.

Paracelsusherbs.com – This site was built entirely by me to sell home-made products produced by Healing Waters Clinic. These include tinctures, capsules, and herbal combinations.

Qigongwithharry.com – A small, services website I built for a personal client from scratch. The web design, function and appearance of the site were all undertaken by myself. I met with the client to discuss their needs, and crafted to website to fit. The client was very pleased with the result.

Jrbenet.com – A large web-commerce store that sells various lines of jewelry and accessories. I maintained and worked to finalize the website for the owner of the storefront. The client was very happy to have progress made on their website, though it has not yet launched due to time constaints.

Spree4Me.com (https://web.archive.org/web/20141218091540/http://spree4me.com/) – A website built to provide information and contact for a personal shopping and delivery company that I founded. This company worked with small businesses in the Tampa area to build connections with customers and increase the volume of orders. I also crafted virtual and physical marketing tools in order to improve the reach of the company.

Infernocide.com – A website built for a local band in the St Augustine area. This website serves as a nexus for displaying and selling merchandize, communicating with fans, and showcasing music produced by the band.

MichaelShryne.com – A personal website built to host my own works and resume. This website features a plethora of choice works from my personal collection, a showcase of my experience and acumen.

Systems Maintenance:

Installation of Point-of-Sale System (Foosales); At Healing Waters Clinic. Installation involved revamping the hundreds of products with new UPC codes, labels, and inventory.

Creation of Professional Scripts and Documents; At Healing Waters Clinic I took the initiative to craft phone scripts, excel spreadsheets to track income for the business, inventory sheets to consolidate the many products,

Installation of Hardware (Cloud backup system); At Healing Waters Clinic. Installation involved deconstructing hard drive enclosures and carefully installing sensitive hardware, ensuring the upgrade ran smoothly and functioned correctly.

Hardware Restoration. I am a collector of antique electronics which I maintain myself. Various audio players, motorized devices, laser emitters, diodes, and even vehicle maintenance is within my bailiwick. This includes cleaning, removal and installation of parts, soldering, testing, and monitoring.

Graphic Design:

Logo development – Professionally designed and created logos for various clients. These logos included custom graphics and modified text in order to make a unique design that best fit the application. I have created designs that work in monotone as well as with custom color palettes chosen to fit the situation.

Marketing Materials – I’ve used Adobe Illustrator to craft promotional flyers for music projects, door hangers for a personal startup company, and to create custom advertisements for web pages and social media. I’ve utilized Adobe Photoshop and similar programs to modify stock photography (some taken by myself) in order to create product listings, market products and events, and imagery for web pages.

Custom Websites – Created and uploaded artwork for use in crafting a custom design experience.

Printing and Logistics – I have overseen the creation and distribution of print work for marketing materials, merchandise, and packaging in order to create an emotional tie with consumers, and to sell various products and services to clients and businesses.

Personal ClientsI have communicated with individual clients and businesses in order to secure work and to better fulfill their needs. I’ve crafted logos, art pieces, and documents for businesses, startups, and even professional bands. I craft my art in physical media, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop, as well as any supplementary software necessary to get the job done.
